Innovation, with
intention

We're not just imagining better care—we're building it. With every step forward, we stay grounded in compassion, powered by innovation, and guided by purpose.
For too long, access to physical therapy has been limited by time, geography, cost, and outdated models that leave too many without care.

At LainaHealth, we envision a world where exceptional physical therapy is universally accessible, affordable, and seamlessly integrated into everyday life.
Our Approach

Human-first technology

We put people first—always. While others use technology to replace human connection, we use it to strengthen it. Our intelligent, trusted platform empowers licensed physical therapists to stay closely connected with their patients—guided by Laina, our voice-enabled WebAI assistant who delivers care that’s personal, responsive, and grounded in real relationships. It’s not about automation—it’s about amplification.
We pair licensed physical therapists with Laina, our AI care assistant, to break down the historic barriers  and deliver care that is personal, connected, and built for real life.

Our Story

From inclusive design to accessible recovery

Explore our timeline to see how we've evolved. Each milestone reflects our commitment to innovation and accessibility.

2006-2007

Breaking New Ground
After witnessing people with mobility challenges struggle to exercise, we created The Access—a strength training machine designed for inclusivity. Internationally awarded, it gained recognition and set the foundation for a new approach to rehabilitation.

2007-2016

Redefining Accessibility
After six years of development, an early prototype was showcased nationwide in a mobile showroom. Three years later, it evolved into a digital platform with plan building, live guidance, and outcomes collection to enhance accessibility and patient engagement.

2017-2019

Expanding Reach
The Access launched nationwide, partnering with health systems, senior care, and government facilities to improve accessibility. In 2019, a collaboration with Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center led to the integration of computer vision, expanding the platform’s capabilities.

2020-2022

Advancing Technology
In collaboration with Google, we trained computer vision models for clinical accuracy, earning a feature at the 2021 I/O Conference. In 2022, our work secured a $1.5M Tactical Funding Increase from the U.S. Air Force to help reduce MSK injuries in the military.

2023-2024

Transforming Care
We evolved into a virtual provider, directly treating patients and delivering affordable, expert-led MSK care. As we grow, we continue to enhance our platform, expanding AI-driven capabilities to make recovery even more accessible and effective.

2025 - Today

Breaking Barriers of Access
We rebranded to LainaHealth—marking a new chapter in our mission to make recovery more accessible and affordable. Built on nearly two decades of innovation, Laina amplifies our original vision —removing barriers, reaching more people, and delivering care that truly fits real life.
